Banana Dog Treats Recipe

Teddy Bear
Banana Dog Biscuits

My banana dog treats recipe is full of rich ripe bananas and whole grains, to provide a healthy dog treat for your Best Friend.

Decorated with dog treat icing, these cute little bears are fancy enough for the most important occasion or party.

But leave them plain, and you still have a tasty dog treat that can be served every single day of the year, without guilt!

Depending on how you decide to decorate the teddy bears, you can serve them at Christmas, Easter, or give them as gifts to announce your new puppy.

Use decorated cello bags like these Christmas treat bags to give your dog treat gifts a special flair.

If you use a bear cookie cutter set like this one, you can vary the size of your teddy bear dog cookies for different dog breeds and sizes.

Directions For
Teddy Bear Banana Cookies

  • Place all the ingredients in your bread maker in the order that your manual suggests.
  • Use the “dough” cycle.
  • When the bell rings, remove the dough and divide it into 3 equal parts so that you will have portions that are easy to use.
  • Sprinkle flour onto a cutting board and flour your non-stick rolling pin.
  • Roll each portion of dough into a circle that is ¼ inch thick.
  • Cut your bears, dipping your cookie cutter into a bowl of flour in between cuts. This will help make it easier to cut and avoid sticking.
  • If your dough is sticky, you may have to add a little flour and work it into the dough. If you were making people cookies, this would make them a bit tougher, but your dog won’t mind. Make it easy on yourself!
  • Place the dog cookies on a greased cookie sheet or an ungreased silicone baking mat.
  • Cover the cookies with a clean towel.
  • Let them rise for 30-60 minutes in a warm location or until they are doubled in height. They get kind of puffy—this part is fun!
  • Bake the cookies for 1 hour at 275 degrees F. Turn off the oven and leave the cookies in the oven for several hours or overnight so they get good and hard. Taking the moisture out of them makes them keep longer and they are better for your dog’s teeth.

If you have a dehydrator, you can finish drying the dog cookies for 2-3 hours in your dehydrator.

Store the cookies in your favorite teddy bear cookie jar. They will keep for several months.

If you need to store the dog treats longer, place them in an airtight food storage container for up to a year.
