Merrick Pet Care Inc. of Amarillo Texas has expanded its recall of Beef Filet Squares dog treats and Texas Holdems pet treats. The recall now includes all 10 oz packages of dog treats. The reason for the recall is that both dog treat products may be contaminated with salmonella. Salmonella threatens people in addition to their dogs, as just touching the contaminated food can spread the infection. This is the 4th recall by the company this year. You can receive a full refund for unused portions of the dog treats by taking the packages to the store where you purchased the dog treats. For questions, call Merrick at (800) 664-7387.
