Made from natural ingredients, these little candy canes are good for your dog too! Give them as gifts—save money—and enjoy the satisfaction of giving homemade dog treats to your friends and family for their pets.
The easiest way to make these dog cookies is to use a candy cane cookie cutter. If you don't have one, you can make little ropes and shape them into candy canes. Either way you make the candy canes, this dog treats recipe will work equally well. When the cookies are baked, add the finishing touch of stripes—made from yogurt coating or royal icing. The icing can be applied with a decorating tube. If you use yogurt you can drizzle it on or apply with a pointed object like an ice pick. For these dog treats, I don't worry about sugar content. There is so little that it's almost non-existent!
