So why bother to cook at home when so many treats are available on the market? Here are just a few reasons to consider:

  1. Cost - You can make great homemade treats for a fraction of the cost that it would cost you to buy them. Take a look at the gourmet dog treats that your local dog bakery business sells.

You will find some great shapes and flavors – but, you will pay very dearly for them! Why not use the best ideas and make them yourself?

  2. Nutrition - When you make your own homemade dog biscuits or homemade dog cookies, you can control the quality of the dog treat ingredients that your dog eats. You can choose to use only healthy whole grains and pure human grade ingredients so that your dog's diet is pure in every aspect.

  3. Flavors - Every dog has its favorites. Using your own homemade dog treat recipes, you can bake your dog's favorite treats. Sometimes a particular flavor like pumpkin or bananas can be hard to find in commercial treats. Don't waste your time looking for hard to find pet treats for your dog. Now you can make them at home!

  4. Chemicals - Many commercial dog treats contain chemicals and preservatives. If you, like me, prefer that your dog not have those un-natural ingredients, you can make your own homemade dog treats that are totally free of chemicals and preservatives.

  5. Specialty Dog Treats - If you bake homemade pet treats, your dog can have the crème de la crème! Whether you want to make gourmet dog treats that look like they came from a people bakery, or homeade dog treats for your dog's birthday party celebration you can make custom dog treats that will impress your friends and please their dogs!

So, get yourself a cup of coffee or tea, and take a little time to browse through my home made dog treat recipes. I think you'll find some that will be fun to make and that will please your dog!

Most of them are really easy dog treat recipes . And you'll find that making home made treats will become a regular fun-filled activity—for the two of you!
